The Dark Valley (2014). Review

It is somehow not customary to call the provinces of European countries a backwater. The Alpine highlands – that's where it goes. But whatever you call it, the essence doesn't change. So an outsider comes to the bear corner of Austria, located in the mountains. Life here is slow, the days pass according to a set pattern, people's relationships are built and do not involve the appearance of strangers. The "Dark Valley" trailer in Russian conveys the atmosphere of a remote place well. The film is very revealing in this regard, as it shows how hard it is for any closed group to accept newcomers, since each person is a new world that can destroy the foundations and foundations of the old one. Moreover, an outsider who came to the Alpine hinterland is completely different – he does not drink, does not smoke, does not fight. The grader is taking pictures. He is interested in the beautiful landscapes of the Alps.<br />
The inhabitants of the mountain valley have completely forgotten that there is another world that is located somewhere down there. They live their own lives, hunt and fish, and have absolutely no need for civilization. Grader is the messenger of the world of cities and business, the world of civilized order and, as it turns out, the callous cruelty that modern man is endowed with. The introduction of the civilized world into the traditions and orders of a closed mountain world is unlikely to make its inhabitants happy. This does not go unnoticed by any of the viewers. The film "Dark Valley" has mostly positive reviews, since the beauty of the mountains and the psychological tragedy of what is happening cannot leave anyone indifferent.
